Implant Types

Saline

These implants are only available in a round shape. They can look less natural and may be prone to rippling. However, it’s very difficult to detect if a rupture or complication occurs.

Silicone

Silicone implants are available in many different sizes and shapes, including round and teardrop. They’re known for looking and feeling slightly more natural than silicone implants, and they are less prone to rippling.

Gummy Bear

A variation of silicone implants, gummy bear implants hold their shape when you move and feel firm to the touch. They look and feel very natural.

Breast Augmentation Before & After

Implant Placement

Subglandular

When implants are placed behind the breast glands and above the chest muscle, it’s called subglandular placement. This option is ideal for women who already have relatively substantial breast volume.

Submuscular

With this approach, Dr. Wingate will place the implants beneath the chest muscle. This recovery can be slightly longer because the muscles are adjusted. However, the results are often very natural-looking, making this placement ideal for women with slender frames that lack substantial natural breast volume.

The Surgery

We will administer general anesthesia prior to your breast augmentation. From there, Dr. Wingate will make an incision so that he can place your implants.

Through those openings, Dr. Wingate will create a pocket to hold your breast implant in place. He will then position the implant beneath your breast tissue or chest muscle and close the incisions.

Locations for these cuts include:

  • Inframammary: Beneath the breast crease. The resulting scars will be hidden by your breasts.
  • Transaxillary: Hidden inside the armpit, so resulting scars are completely hidden from view.
  • Periareolar: Along the lower edge of the areola.

Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation

In addition to breast implants, Dr. Wingate offers fat transfer breast augmentation. With this approach, he will first perform liposuction to remove excess fat. Then, he’ll purify the fat and inject it into the breasts to make them larger. No incisions are necessary, and the results tend to be very natural.
