The Surgery

Dr. Wingate will perform your breast augmentation with a lift under general anesthesia. He places your breast implant first and then shapes and lifts the remaining tissue and skin around your new size.

Your lift will be done in one of three ways:

Periareolar

Also known as the donut technique, the incision for this procedure extends around the areola. Through that opening, Dr. Wingate can make minor adjustments to the position of your breast tissue. It tends to be ideal for women who require less lifting and reshaping.

Vertical Scar

Dr. Wingate often recommends this technique to women who have moderate to severe breast drooping. The incision is made around the areola and down to the breast crease.

Horizontal Scar

The incision for this approach is created around the areola, down the breast and along the breast crease. It’s the largest breast lift incision, making it useful for women who have large breasts and require significant tissue removal.

The Recovery

Your recovery from a breast augmentation with lift will last about seven to ten days, at which point you’ll feel comfortable to return to work and light daily activities. However, you will need to wait and additional few weeks before resuming exercise and strenuous activity.
