A Natural Alternative to Breast Implants

When most people think of breast augmentation, they think of having silicone or saline implants placed. However, there is another method that works exceptionally well if you want a modest increase in breast size.

The Benefits

With a fat transfer breast augmentation, Dr. Wingate can improve your breast shape and size using your own body fat. This allows you to improve the appearance of your breasts while also smoothing and streamlining another problem area, such as your tummy, hips, or thighs.

  • Results that look and feel natural
  • Minimally invasive with no significant incisions
  • No implant maintenance is required

The Surgery

Dr. Wingate can perform your fat transfer breast augmentation under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your needs.

To begin, he will perform liposuction to harvest fat. This fat can be taken from anywhere on your body where excess fat is present, such as your arms, thighs, buttocks, tummy, hips, and more.

Once Dr. Wingate has collected enough body fat for the procedure, he will cleanse the cells and inject them into your breasts. This will be done artistically and at varying depths to sculpt a shapelier chest that looks and feels natural. Over time, the injected fat cells will establish a new blood supply, which ensures that your beautiful results will last long-term.

The Recovery + Results

Most of our patients can return to work and light daily activities within about one week. The results typically last a very long time, although future weight fluctuations may affect them.

Fat Transfer Breast AugmentationFrequently Asked Questions

How much will my breast size increase?

It varies depending on how much of the fat survives the transfer. In general, this approach is best for women who want a modest increase in breast volume. A more dramatic transformation would require breast implants.

Will I need more than one fat transfer procedure?

It depends on your goals. In general, we can enhance your breasts by one cup size in a single surgery. If you want a larger increase, you may need an additional procedure.

Will I have scarring?

One of the biggest benefits of a fat transfer breast augmentation is that the scars are minimal. You’ll only require tiny incisions for the liposuction and fat injections. Dr. Wingate will ensure that these small openings are carefully placed so that any resulting scars are virtually imperceptible.

Fat Transfer or Breast Implants: Which One is Right for You?

The right procedure truly depends on your unique needs and aesthetic goals. If you want to boost your chest by several cup sizes, or if you need to address significant drooping, breast implants (and possibly a breast lift) may be in your best interest.

However, if you don’t have substantial breast drooping and want to increase your breasts by one cup size, a fat transfer may be your ideal option. During your initial consultation at our Wayne area office, Dr. Wingate will help you select the surgery that is in your best interest and can produce your desired results.
