Reshaped Nipples. Beautiful Breasts.

The nipples are important elements of your breasts—and they can affect how you feel about your entire appearance. It’s common for women to report that their nipples have changed due to aging, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, and they no longer feel as confident in their chest appearance.

Even though your nipples are small structures, Dr. Wingate understands the impact they can have. He also knows how powerful subtle changes can be in sculpting breasts that are both beautiful and natural.

Enhancing the Nipples: What is Possible?

Areola Reduction

Your areolas are the pigmented circles that surround your nipples. Their size can vary—and some women have areolas that are larger than average. When this occurs, Dr. Wingate can reduce the size relatively quickly.

He’ll simply make an incision around the border of the areola and remove small portions of the pigmented skin. If one areola is larger than the other, he can adjust the size accordingly to ensure a beautifully balanced appearance.

Inverted Nipple Correction

If a nipple points inward or is completely flat (no projection), it’s called “inverted.” Dr. Wingate can correct nipple inversion by strategically placing an incision that can push the nipple outward. This can be done without harming the milk ducts, thus preserving your ability to breastfeed in the future.

Nipple Elevation

If you’re experiencing the inevitable drooping breasts that happens with age, there’s a good chance that your nipples are also affected. In this case, Dr. Wingate will usually perform a breast lift and a nipple adjustment. Once your breast tissue has been elevated and shaped, he can move your nipples to a higher location on your chest so they create a youthful and perky appearance.

Nipple Reconstruction

If you had a mastectomy to treat or prevent breast cancer, you may have lost one or both of your nipples during the surgery. Many women choose to have their nipples reconstructed to restore their natural breast appearance. Dr. Wingate can reconstruct your nipples via:

  • Skin Graft. This involves moving skin from one area of your body (such as your abdomen or buttocks) to the breasts to reshape your areola.
  • Skin Flap. This approach involves creating a new nipple that projects. Dr. Wingate will take a flap from your newly reshaped breast to create a defined nipple.
