Rediscover Your Youthful Beauty

A smooth and elevated forehead is a signature sign of youth. With age, the effects of gravity can cause this area to droop, making you look perpetually serious or tired. When this occurs, a brow lift with Dr. Wingate can:

  • Reduce wrinkles on the forehead
  • Gently elevate a drooping brow
  • Improve frown lines between your eyebrows
  • Restore a more youthful facial appearance

Endoscopic or Classic Brown Lift: Which One is Right for You?

Classic Brow Lift

The classic brow lift involves an incision that starts at the ear, extends all the way along the hairline, and ends at the opposite ear. Through that lengthy opening, Dr. Wingate can remove a substantial amount of excess tissue and fat and reposition the underlying muscles. He can also reposition the eyebrows and trim away excess skin.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

The endoscopic brow lift requires three to five short incisions (less than one inch each). Dr. Wingate will then place a thin tube with a camera at the end (endoscope) through one of the incisions. He’ll then remove excess tissue and fat through a different incision. The endoscopic approach is less invasive and has a shorter recovery period. It’s a terrific option for many of our Westchester area patients. However, if you want to correct advanced signs of aging with a dramatic transformation, the classic approach may be more suitable.

The Surgery

To begin your brow lift, we will administer general anesthesia. Once the medication has taken effect, Dr. Wingate will make an incision at your hairline. Through that opening, he will remove the tissue, muscle, and skin that are contributing to wrinkles and lines.

Once your forehead has been subtly enhanced and lifted, he will close the incisions. The entire surgery can take between one and three hours, and you can return home on the same day to begin healing.

The Recovery

Most of our Malvern area patients can return to work within 10 to 14 days. The majority of your swelling will subside within two weeks, but it may take several additional weeks for it to disappear completely. Dr. Wingate will provide you with personalized guidance on when you can resume normal daily activities and strenuous exercise.

Brow LiftFrequently Asked Questions

Are brow lift scars visible?

Whether you choose to have the classic or endoscopic brow lift, Dr. Wingate will hide the incisions within your hairline. That means the resulting scars will be hidden as well.

When will I see the final results of my brow lift?

You’ll notice an improvement fairly quickly, but the final results will not be apparent for six months. It takes that long for your new contours to settle and for all post-surgical swelling to subside.
