Gentle Rejuvenation for Glowing Skin

IPL is a non-invasive procedure that creates an even complexion and younger-looking skin. It uses broad-spectrum light to stimulate your body’s natural ability to heal and improve the appearance of:

  • Veins and blood vessels
  • Brown spots, melasma, freckles, and pigmentation issues
  • Scars and stretch marks
  • Redness and rosacea
  • Acne and other blemishes

Your IPL Experience: What to Expect

Your IPL treatments will take place in the comfort of our Malvern plastic surgery office. To begin, we will carefully clean your skin and apply a cool gel to the treatment area. Then, we’ll use the IPL device to administer light pulses to your skin. These pulses may sting, but they should not be too painful.

Your appointment should take about 30 minutes, but it may be slightly shorter or longer depending on the size of the treatment area. You can go back to your regular activities without any restrictions, although your skin will be red and sensitive for a couple of days.

The Results

After just one or two appointments for IPL, you will see a transformation in your skin. Sun damage, wrinkles, and redness will all begin to fade and your radiant complexion will shine through. Since IPL stimulates fresh collagen production, your results will continue progressing for about six months.

To achieve your optimal results, you may need between three and six treatments spaced about one month apart.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Frequently Asked Questions

Do IPL treatments require any downtime?

Not at all. You can wear makeup, return to work, and resume your routine immediately after your appointment. Your skin may simply be redder than usual for a few days as the area heals.

How does IPL work?

IPL uses a range of light wavelengths to target melanin, which is responsible for pigmentation, and hemoglobin, which is responsible for redness. The light energy breaks down the damaged skin cells and stimulates new collagen and elastin—all of which results in clear, glowing, and radiant skin.
