What Are Biostimulators?

Biostimulators trigger your immune system to produce fresh collagen. They are injected into the dermis (the deep layer of the skin), where they help your body produce fresh and youthful volume.

Biostimulator Facial Fillers

These products combine the power of biostimulators with traditional facial fillers for a comprehensive transformation.

Sculptra

  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Replenish your skin’s natural collagen production
  • Enhance your overall facial appearance

Sculptra is a gel-like filler that helps your body to gradually replace lost collagen. It’s formulated with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which smooths facial wrinkles by targeting the deep, underlying structure of the skin. Sculptra requires a series of four injections, and the results can last up to two years.

The Treatment Experience: What to Expect

We’ll ask you to arrive at our Malvern office with a clean face—no makeup, creams, or lotions.

To begin your treatment, we will clean the area and apply a topical anesthetic to numb your skin and ensure your comfort. From there, we will use a small needle to inject the biostimulator filler beneath your skin. You may feel mild pressure during this process but no pain. After treatment, you’re free to resume your normal daily activities.

Biostimulators vs. Dermal Fillers

Both of these solutions enhance your facial aesthetics, but they do so in different ways. Dermal fillers usually contain hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a substance that retains moisture. They provide instant volume and smooth wrinkles, and they can last up to a year.

Conversely, biostimulators work gradually, stimulating the body’s collagen production so that your facial tissues are supported from within. This creates tighter, more youthful skin from the inside out. The effects of biostimulators last longer than those of dermal fillers, and your results will continue to improve many months after treatment.
