What is BBL HEROic Treatment?

BBL HEROic is a non-invasive procedure that creates an even complexion and younger-looking skin. It uses broad-spectrum light to stimulate your body’s natural ability to heal and improve the appearance of:

  • Veins and blood vessels
  • Brown spots, melasma, freckles, and pigmentation issues

  • Redness and rosacea
  • Acne and other blemishes

Skin Benefits Surface spot fading Surface clearance + deep cellular rejuvenation

Why BBL HEROic Beats Traditional IPL?

While traditional IPL treats surface sun damage, BBL HEROic—Sciton’s advanced BroadBand Light platform—delivers faster, safer, and noticeably better skin rejuvenation. Think of BBL HEROic as the high-definition evolution of IPL.

  • 4x Faster Treatments: BBL HEROic uses a smooth, gliding motion rather than IPL's slow, painful "stamping" technique. Full-face treatments take under 10 minutes.
  • Superior Comfort: Integrated continuous cooling protects the skin and ensures an easy, comfortable experience with zero downtime.
  • Deeper Rejuvenation: Standard IPL only targets surface spots. BBL HEROic uses higher peak power to target deeper pigment, diffuse redness, and stimulate collagen production at a cellular level.
  • Better Results in Fewer Sessions: Clear stubborn sun damage, rosacea, and age spots in just 1 to 3 treatments, compared to the 5+ sessions typically required by IPL.

Your BBL Experience: What to Expect

Your BBL treatments will take place in the comfort of our plastic surgery office. To begin, we will carefully clean your skin and apply a cool gel to the treatment area. Then, we’ll use the BBL HEROic device to administer light pulses to your skin. These pulses may sting, but they should not be too painful.

Your appointment should take about 30 minutes, but it may be slightly shorter or longer depending on the size of the treatment area. You can resume your regular activities without restrictions, although your skin will be red and sensitive for a couple of days.

BBL Results

After just one or two appointments for BBL HEROic, you will see a transformation in your skin. Sun damage, wrinkles, and redness will all begin to fade and your radiant complexion will shine through. Since BBL HEROic stimulates fresh collagen production, your results will continue progressing for about six months.

To achieve your optimal results, you may need between three and six treatments spaced about one month apart.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Frequently Asked Questions

Do BBL HEROic treatments require any downtime?

Not at all. You can wear makeup, return to work, and resume your routine immediately after your appointment. Your skin may simply be redder than usual for a few days as the area heals.

How does BBL HEROic work?

BBL HEROic uses a range of light wavelengths to target melanin, which is responsible for pigmentation, and hemoglobin, which is responsible for redness. The light energy breaks down the damaged skin cells and stimulates new collagen and elastin—all of which results in clear, glowing, and radiant skin.
